Have you ever bought apps at a wholesale price?

Currency Banknotes Sells Wholesale Copies on Appbackr

Currency Banknotes, the unique currency converter iPhone app that allows users to view paper bill images, is available in the Appbackr wholesale marketplace at $10 for every 22 copies. Individuals can purchase copies of Currency Banknotes in bulk, for a 27% return on investment when the app sells on the iTunes App Store.

TechiXoft, the company behind the finance and travel app Currency Banknotes, is now selling copies of the app through Appbackr, the first and only wholesale marketplace for mobile apps. Buyers, aptly named as “backrs,” can purchase copies of Currency Banknotes for a fraction of its original price, and collect the difference once the app sells on the Apple App Store.

Originally priced at $0.99 a piece, backrs will be able to buy copies of Currency Banknotes for $0.45, provided that they purchase at least 22 copies of the app. A minimum purchase of $10 can earn buyers $13 in revenue.

Currency Banknotes was well-received in the Appbackr marketplace. It was recently featured as “App of the Week” on the popular website, and has already earned over $2500.00. It will be on sale for 27 more days, and individuals are encouraged to purchase copies of the app at a wholesale rate, while they’re still available.

Aside from the unique features of Currency Banknotes, John Nicasio, CEO of TechiXoft, also attributed their marketplace success to the app’s great performance in various App Stores around the world. Currency Banknotes has reached the Top 25 for the Finance category in several countries including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and more. It was also featured in several iPhone and travel websites, and was named as one of the Top 5 Smart Currency Converter Apps by Mashable.

“We think that the app’s accomplishments and the amazing coverage that it received made it very attractive to backrs.” Nicasio furthered that the funds that they receive from backrs will be used to update and add more features to the app.

Android Version

TechiXoft intends to release an Android version of Currency Banknotes, and the company is also raising funds with the help of Appbackr. “The Android version will be in the works very soon,” said Nicasio. Those who wish to invest in the app’s Android counterpart can purchase copies of Currency Banknotes for a wholesale rate of $0.35. With a minimum purchase of $10, the app has a 54% return on investment.

Currency Banknotes for iPhone Hits Finance Category’s Hot List

Los Angeles, California – Currency Banknotes by TechiXoft settled into the 6th spot of the Finance Category’s “What’s Hot” list on September 28 (US). This is not the first time that the app was featured in the App Store, though. Currency Banknotes was also named as “New and Noteworthy” in Greece earlier this month. “We are thrilled to have made it to the Hot List of Finance,” said TechiXoft CEO John Nicasio. “It goes to show that good apps don’t stay unnoticed for long.”

The app also received significant media coverage. Mashable included Currency Banknotes in its list of 5 Smart Apps for Currency Conversion. The popular blog praised its image gallery feature and stated that, “knowing what money is supposed to look like can help you from getting ripped off.”

Additionally, Mountain Weekly News also noticed the app, and mentioned that “Currency Banknotes currency converter for iPhone will become your best friend while traveling.”

“The attention from the blogosphere and Apple is truly overwhelming,” said Nicasio. He added that the TechiXoft team is humbled by all the buzz about Currency Banknotes.

About the App:
Currency Banknotes can convert over 150 currencies with at touch of a button. What sets it apart though is its capability to showcase banknote images together with the conversion rates. Truly a first of its kind, the Currency Banknotes app displays a total of nearly 1000 currency images, including rare and hard-to-find banknotes. Users can even zoom in and out of the images to see the paper bills in full detail.

All the paper bill images are stored in the app’s wide database, allowing users to swiftly browse through the Currency Banknotes gallery even without an Internet connection.

TechiXoft aims to make Currency Banknotes the go-to currency converter in the App Store. “We believe that it’s an app that a lot of iPhone users will benefit from. After all, everyone needs a converter app in their phone,” said Nicasio. Nicasio furthered that the app is ideal for travelers because it allows them to convert currencies while on the go, and also gives them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with foreign paper bills before or during their trip.

Moreover, Currency Banknotes offers a unique opportunity for people to get a glimpse of foreign cultures. “The app gives users the chance to admire the architecture, people, and traditions of other nations. You can learn a lot about other countries simply by examining their paper bills,” said Nicasio.

Will the iPhone 5 be Unveiled on October 4th?

Mark your calendars, Apple fans, as October 4 (that’s a Tuesday) could be the day that Apple unveils the much-anticipated iPhone 5. According AllThingsD, their sources have reported that Apple is expecting to hold its next major media event on that day.

The post by AllThingsD continued that, “While Apple could certainly change its plans anytime, sources said that the Oct. 4 date has been selected by the company to showcase the iPhone 5. Sources added that the plan is now to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement.”

Rumors about the iPhone 5’s launch have been circulating for the longest time, with initial speculations that the handset will be released on September. However, since September is practically out the door, it’s safe to assume that that report is false. There are more talks and guesses about the iPhone 5; will it have a bigger screen? Will it support 4G? Is it really coming to Sprint? Obviously, no one has confirmed or denied any of these speculations, but we’re thinking that all will be revealed on October 4… maybe.

On a slightly different note, aside from the much-awaited phone, a lot people are also anticipating the keynote speech of Apple’s media event. Steve Jobs used to be the main presenter in their events, but with him stepping down, it would make sense that his successor, Tim Cook, would be the one taking the stage this year. So Will Cook deliver a compelling presentation? Will Steve Jobs even make an appearance at all? Again, all will be revealed.

Cutting into the Clutter of the App Store in Less than a Week

Build it, work hard, assemble a great marketing team, have a little bit of luck, and the downloads will come. Oh, but don’t forget to ask for help from your friends.

Too simplistic? Maybe. But that’s how Currency Banknotes made it to the 14th spot of the top paid apps in the App Store’s Finance category after just five days of its launch. We discovered that if you make a QUALITY app that’s useful and will truly make people’s lives easier, you WILL make it to the coveted top 25. Just be sure to set the stage, and have bursts of downloads during the first couple of days after you launch.

Diligence, dedication, prayers and a little help from friends and before we know it, we started seeing some organic downloads and reviews. Next thing we know, we’re on the first page of the App Store’s finance category.

Note: Another important thing is choosing your category wisely. Our app could be under three different categories, finance, travel and utilities. We chose finance simply because there is less competition (but the category certainly isn’t lacking good quality apps.)

Currency Banknotes is available on the App Store. Download it here.

If you can give me a currency app cooler than this, I’ll eat my smartphone.

We here at TechiXoft are proud to announce that we have a latest addition to our app family!  Our most recent project, Currency Banknotes, is very much alive and kicking in the Apple App Store, and it’s on sale too, in commemoration of Labor Day.

Currency Banknotes takes currency converter apps to the next level as it is the ONLY currency converter that lets you see images of banknotes worldwide. Users will not only benefit from having real time exchange rates for over 150 countries in the palm of their hand, but they’ll also be able to see pictures of banknotes from all over the world.

Currency Banknotes can convert currencies as quickly and easily as any other conversion app in the market. The kicker though, is the app’s very special feature that showcases banknote images together with the conversion rates. Truly a first of its kind, the Currency Banknotes app displays a total of nearly 1000 currency images, including rare and hard-to-find banknotes. Users can even zoom in and out of the images to see the paper bills in full detail.

Another distinct feature of Currency Banknotes is its “Top 10 Currencies” tab, in which users will be able to instantly calculate the exchange rates of the top 10 currencies of the world, all with one tap of a button. The app displays rates of the world’s 10 major currencies, saving time and effort, and allowing users to quickly go about their day.

TechiXoft aims to make Currency Banknotes the go-to currency converter in the App Store category. It’s useful, it’s eye-candy, and we believe that it’s an app that a lot of iPhone users will benefit from. After all, everyone needs a converter app in their phone.

The Secret Behind Angry Birds’ Success (Part 1 of 2)

Alright, if you’ve never heard of Angry Birds, then either you’ve been extremely busy and productive, or you’ve been living under a rock this past year or so. In any case, here’s what you need to know: Angry Birds is the widely popular mobile game developed by Finland-based company Rovio that involves using a slingshot to launch birds at pigs. It’s a very simple mobile application that has caught worldwide attention, and has delivered staggering numbers. In fact, as of May 2011, Rovio announced that Angry Birds topped 200 Million downloads. (Yes, that is a LOT of Angry Birds.) The app is available across numerous mobile operating systems including iOs, Android, HP WebOS, and Windows Phone 7.

Now we here at TechiXoft already have our theories on why the game is so popular and addicting. And doing some research confirmed our hunches that the success of Angry Birds can be attributed to two main things: marketing and psychology.

Discussing the two concepts would result to an extremely lengthy blog post, so allow us to focus on one key aspect for now: marketing.

First and foremost, those darn birds are EVERYWHERE. The fact that Angry Birds is available in virtually all mobile operating systems including WinPhone7 and HP Web OS is big plus for the app. A lot of developers produce applications exclusively for iPhone and Android users, while leaving the not-so popular mobile operating systems out in the cold. Rovio, on the other hand, went above and beyond to ensure that their app is accessible to practically anyone with a smartphone.

Moreover, we’ve got to give props to the marketing team of Rovio. They took those adorable birds from the mobile arena and brought them to the real world. They produced Angry Bird T-Shirts, Plush toys, even card games. It’s come to the point where the fans themselves are delivering Angry Bird creations. Check out this man from San Francisco who made a cake out of the characters of the game.

And it’s not just about the merchandise. Angry Birds has taken product placement to a whole new level. Those birds are on TV (How I Met Your Mother, Sprint commercial), they’re on the big screen (they made a cameo appearance on the comedy “Horrible Bosses”) and they’re even on your web browser (Google Chrome.) Don’t believe us? Check out the video clips and images below:
